"Love the one you're with"

"Love the one you're with"

You've heard the saying, "It is easier to keep a customer than to generate a new one." This is even truer in our business. Once you are in their home and create your magic, the client loves you and wants more. Often their intentions are good, but life gets in the way, and they don't follow through. Here are five ways to stay connected to your clients and create long lasting relationships.

1. Give - A happy customer tells 3-7 people of their positive experience, an unhappy customer tells 15-20 people. Create a customer service protocol that results in
delighted clients.
2. Appreciate - Let your client know you value their business. Always send a thank you note after the job, consider Send Out Cards to accomplish this.
3. Connect - Send follow up communication in the form of a newsletter or card letting them know about work you have done or "up coming" specials you may have.
Always share 80% information and 20% sales pitch.
4. More - Add something unexpected to a job. For example, if you are decorating the living room, share a color choice for adjoining area. Perhaps offer free throw pillows
with window treatments, you get the idea.
5. Invite -Speaking at a local event or kindred spirit location? Invite past clients to join you and you will have added your fans to the crowd.
